By default, Office automatically updates RefWorks Citation Manager whenever a new version becomes available. This happens, for example, when you ’ve logged in to a Word document with multiple RefWorks accounts or when you ’ve installed multiple versions of the plug-in on your PC. Word sometimes removes the RefWorks plug-in. RefWorks Citation Manager is available through the Microsoft Store and can be installed directly from Microsoft Word. The RefWorks tab in Word has disappeared. Your citations will have all been converted to the appropriate style and the curly brackets should have been removed. RefWorks Citation Manager is a newer, more modern version of Write-N-Cite. A new version of your Word document will open, which includes a bibliography in the appropriate citation style.Click on 'Select a File' and navigate to the Word document you just saved and select it.Choose the Output Style you need (e.g.In RefWorks click on the Create Bibliography button and select Format Paper and Bibliography link.

Once you have inserted all your citations save your document.The version should be indicated in the rightmost panel of the Finder window. listing e.g., About Microsoft Word I don't use Refworks but it should offer a similar menu item or you can select it in the Applications folder while in List View. Before creating another citation clear the Citation Viewer in RefWorks. For Office version click the program name in any Office program & select the About.When you wish to cite a reference in your document, go to RefWorks, and click on the Cite icon.An alternative way to cite references in your Word document is to use One Line Cite. If you have already logged into your RefWorks account, but haven't used Write-N-Cite in a while, you may want to click on the "Sync My Database" button to ensure that all of your current references, current project, and favorite/recently used styles are accounted for.Currently WNC is incompatible with Word 2016 on most Macs.You can also change the citation style of the document mid-writing, and it will reorganize your in-text citations and reference list accordingly.From there, you can log into your RefWorks account to insert in-text citations and bibliographies based on the references you have in your library.While both Write-N-Cite (WNC) and RefWorks Citation Manager (RCM) will be located as one of your main navigation tabs, WNC will display as part of the top navigation bar while RCM will display as a sidebar on the right side of the screen.Note: This enhancement does not apply to Write-N-Cite which presently formats Word documents only. odt files directly into the RefWorks Bibliography area for formatting.
